History of the tournament

The international youth tournament “Kaluga Junior Cup” is organized in order to attract interest to the football on the eve of FIFA World Cup 2018 and to promote football in the Kaluga Region.
The aims of “Kaluga Junior Cup” are
-Healthy lifestyle popularization
-Development of international bounds of the Kaluga Region with countries represented by the participants of the tournament.
-Training of young football players, giving them game practice and incredible experience of playing against competitors from different countries.
The beginning of the tournament is devoted to the International Children’s Day – June 1st. The competition got approval and support from Football Union of Russia and the Kaluga Region governor Anatoly Artamonov. The venue of the tournament is the “Annenki” Stadium the home ground of “Kaluga” Football Club.
Alongside with the sports events the participants will take part in a sightseeing program during which they will witness the sights of Kaluga, learn the history of the city, visit its museums and get some souvenirs.
We hope that the participants will enjoy “Kaluga Junior Cup” and come back next time because the tournament is traditional and will be held annually.
